Pipey
A lightweight CRM for people who never wanted a CRM: one inbox, a visual pipeline and an AI that drafts the reply.
Challenge
Small studios and solo businesses sell in messengers. Their "CRM" is a chat list, a notes app and a spreadsheet nobody updates, and a classic CRM looks like a project of its own. The idea behind Pipey was value in ten minutes: connect a channel, see the conversations, take an action, reply.
What we built
Pipey starts from the conversation. Messages land in one inbox and are tied to a contact and a deal automatically. Next to each chat an AI panel drafts a reply, summarises the thread and suggests the next action; you edit the draft and send it. Deals sit on a visual pipeline: on a computer you drag them between stages, on a phone you swipe, with an undo button for a few seconds. From a deal you can produce a quote or an invoice as a PDF, a product card or a link to a public booking page where clients pick a slot from the next two weeks. Analytics show the funnel, revenue, channels and team, and a team can work with owner, admin and member roles.
On a phone the side menu turns into a bottom bar with five tabs, the buttons are big enough for a thumb, and Pipey can be added to the home screen like an app.
How it went
Work started on 20 January 2026 under the name LeadPort, with contacts, pipelines and deals. Less than a month later, by 18 February, it had quotes and invoices as PDFs, the AI assistant, the public booking page, team roles and the phone version. In March the product was renamed Pipey.
At the end of March a big round of work went into reliability and everyday use. A short outage on the messenger's side no longer costs a message, and analytics, swiping deals on a phone with undo and a profile page for each contact arrived.
In June the interface was translated and the project went open source under the MIT license. It is an honest beta: the project's public description lists what is still unfinished.
The demo runs the real interface on fictional data for a design studio, in the browser only: you can move deals, ask the AI panel for a draft and open documents, and a reload resets everything.
Result
A small business gets its conversations, deals and paperwork in one place without learning a CRM first.
